This week and several days I have before summer class begins, I squeezed in as much book-reading and favorite-movie-watching as I could (along with over-sleeping). "Spirited Away" and "Kiki's Delivery Service", being two of my favorite movies, got watched this week, on 5/27. I wrote some stuff about them afterwards:
For movies like "Sprited Away", perhaps sequels wouldn't make sense because it's a once-in-a-lifetime-experience, as opposed to just a simple story/narration.
In "Kiki's Delivery Service", when Kiki misses the party she was going to, perhaps it's a representation of all of our missed opportunities, all those "curse missed opporunities", especially those we had a chance to take. Kiki COULD have gone to that party, just chose not to go, for whatever reasons. Curse missed opportunities.

This is all a reflection partly due to people on IMDB wondering if there will ever be a sequel made of "Spirited Away" (Miyazaki would not allow it, I'm sure), and because Coldplay's song "Clocks", something I was listening to recently, talks of "missed opportunities". And I sure have missed a shitload of opportunities in life...

Man of Steel, Feet of Lead
Was watching Superman: The Animated Series episode on 04/26, in which "Villain tries to control the weather." Wrote:
Haha Superman and Flash are racing to see who's the fastest man alive. Lol. Flash says "Man of steel, feet of lead." And when they passed cars on a toll bridge, a guy about to pay his toll fee was swept about a bit by the rush of the two heroes running by and shouted "Madre de dios!" Lmao... haha.
And Superman tells Flash, at the end of the day, when they saved the world, "You know, Flash, at the beginning of today, I thought you were just a hyperactive jerk. But you're okay."

COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG 04/25/09
Was watching an episode called "The Magic Tree" on 04/25. Hilarious as usual. I found it funny how Courage was playing with a makeshift toy bulldozer, consisting of a set of "tank wheels" (wtf are they called??) with a little toy house on top accatched to a shovel-type thing. It was cute... and sad and pathetic at the same time. I dunno if any of you who are reading this watch the show, but I highly recommend it to anyone who likes watching a poor little frightened purple dog protecting his family from a variety of strange and often evil creatures dropping in on them in the middle of nowhere.

Was watching "The Mutant Agenda" episode of Spider-Man TAS, and Beast said something to Spidey (who was rapdibly mutating into the ass-ugly Man-Spider) that resonated with me: "How sad. We are all alone until we accept our need for others." Tis true, ain't it? All the stuff you can learn from old-school cartoons... You don't see this type of stuff everyday with more recent TV shows...

This one had me cracking up so hard...
"There is no profit to be made in the destruction of the planet. It is very bad for business." Freakin hilarious. Ahh... gotta love the biggest man in TAS.

"Spider-Man ducks bounty hunters as he pursues Eddie Brock." (episode description). Awesome episode. The 2nd part of the "new constume episode". It's called "The Alien Costume, Part 2". The police are still chasing Spidey, but with his new black suit, he's kind of... unbeatable. Except when sonic vibrations are used. Egh. Which the "bounty hunters" did use. Damn. So where the hell is Mary Jane during all this time? Hmm?
